I’m Jess, the creative force behind Digs Design Labs, a dynamic and innovative design studio specializing in custom residential projects. With a diploma in Architectural Technologies and a wealth of experience in custom home design, I bring passion and expertise to every stage of the design process—from initial concept development to overseeing construction. At Digs, I prioritize my clients' lifestyles along with the natural environment, striving to create timeless, sustainable designs that enhance the way you live. Starting Digs was a natural progression to explore new ideas and techniques while ensuring a commitment to delivering high-quality, enduring designs.

Having spent my entire life in a mountain town, I truly understand the active lifestyle that defines these communities. My passion for designing practical homes comes from a deep connection of how people live and move in such environments. Every home should tell a unique story, reflecting you. I believe homes should not only be aesthetically pleasing, but as importantly, highly functional - designed to accommodate gear storage, outdoor living spaces (to name a few), and the flow of an adventurous, active life. With first-hand experience in this lifestyle, I am dedicated to crafting homes that seamlessly complement the dynamic needs of those who thrive in the mountains, creating spaces that feel like a true extension of who you are.

Digs Design Lab was recommended from a respected Rossland contracting company owner, and my high expectations were far exceeded. Jess worked with my rough concept ideas, and with her expertise and creativity, was able to shape a design that’s more than I could have imagined in both functionality and beauty. On top of that, Jess saved me tons of time and headed off any potential issues by researching and navigating local regulations and permit concerns. Jess from DIGS Design Lab designed our house, and it turned out fantastic. It’s beautiful, modern, relevant and very functional. The house is an open concept design with very cool modern roof lines similar to other designs but with a unique configuration that we had not seen before. The large windows provide us with stunning views and it ties into the current landscape beautifully. The house has a standout presence on the block due to its large timber beams, all black siding with additional timber accents. We couldn’t be happier with how our home turned out, thanks Jess.
